Admissions Process 1. Attend an Information Session Information sessions offer parents who are interested in joining our community the opportunity to hear about Pono’s philosophy and principles, the different elements of our unique learning environment, the admission process, and more. In these meetings, new parents get to meet our founder and director, teachers, as well as other parents and children who are part of our community. We encourage parents to bring their children to enjoy a Pono experience. Snacks will be offered to all. Information session meetings last usually for an hour. You can always view the current schedule of Information Sessions by visiting the Calendar tab. If you would like to attend, please let us know by writing to info@ponolearning.org. 2. Submit an Initial Admissions Application Form Click here to download our Initial Admissions Application Form. Or, click on the link at the end of this page to fill out the form online. Upon receipt of this form, you will receive information about our sliding scale and details about upcoming Community Meetings. Please note that you may submit this initial form before you attend an Information Session. 3. Sliding Scale Application If you are seeking tuition abatement through our sliding scale, you will need to fill out an application with FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment. FACTS will charge a non-refundable fee of $25 per family. FACTS Application will need to be submitted online and the necessary supporting documentation will need to be sent to FACTS. A detailed description of FACTS application will be sent to parents upon receipt of their Initial Admissions Application Form. 4. Attend Community Meetings It is mandatory for parents who sign up with Pono to attend, with their children, our Community Meetings. Parents are invited to these meetings only after they have attended an Information Session and submitted an Initial Admissions Application form. In these meetings we discuss topics related to school schedule, physical setting, general goals, and other important topics related to the learning, comfort, and well being of children. A hard copy of the full Admissions Application will be handed out in the first Community Meeting you attend, and the tuition (after receipt of recommendation from FACTS) will be discussed then. Please visit the Calendar tab to view our current schedule of Community Meetings. 5. Admissions Application Complete the electronic version of the full Admissions Application and submit it by email to admissions@ponolearning.org. Pono does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identification in the administration of its policies, scholarship and loan programs, admissions and other center-administered programs. |
